Make your own lip balms! Recipe Ingredients: - 2 tbsp castor oil - 1 tbsp beeswax - 1 tsp honey - Carrot seed essential oil - Sandalwood essential oil

Melt the beeswax using hot water, once the beeswax has melted then add the castor oil and honey until it all blends together and becomes a nice thick liquid. Once this happens then take it out from the hot water. Once the mixture has cooled slightly then add two drops of your chosen essential oils. Once the oils have been added then make sure everything is mixed together very well. You can then separate the lip balm into smaller containers so that you can store it.

It’s a good idea to label each container with the ingredients, usage instructions and when you made the lip balm. The lip balm is very easy to use; you just need to use your finger to simply smooth a tiny amount onto the surface of the lips. You are free to add any essential oils you like, however if you are pregnant then make sure that you can use the oils without any risks.

Lip Balm Butter Recipe This recipe is similar to Burt’s Bees Lip Balm. It has plenty of beeswax and shea butter in it. It seems to lend itself to minty essential oils as well as our lavender/lime essential oil blend. Ingredients: 1 ounces beeswax beads 1 ounces shea butter 3/4 ounce borage seed oil( you can use a less expensive oil such as sweet almond oil. Borage seed oil is the most moisturizing oil that we carry.) 1 teaspoon colored jojoba beads (optional) Essential Oils--

Minty suggestions: ½ teaspoon peppermint essential oil or ½ teaspoon spearmint essential oil or ½ teaspoon peppermint and ¼ teaspoon wintergreen essential oils

Lavender/Lime – add 1 to 2 teaspoons essential oil blend – equal parts

For a softer lip balm, add another ½ ounce of borage seed oil and/or omit jojoba beads.

Our natural lip balm tubes with the teal caps look really nice with lagoon green jojoba beads for a minty lip balm. You can see the lip balm color thru the tube
